Manufacturing is a process of turning raw material into a finished product.

Manufacturing is mainly applied to industrial production for a large scale production. The process of manufacturing is converting raw materials, components, or parts into finished goods. Furthermore, manufacturing is very closely connected with engineering and industrial design. Manufacturing is also often used to describe the process of production or even fabrication. Fabrication is mainly used in industries as semiconductor and steel. Production is a process of combining material and immaterial inputs (materials and know-how) and therefore includes also service which is not included in manufacturing.
