Erkrath, Germany, 2017-03-08 - Regulations on truck driving bans in Europe are quite complex. There are driving bans for trucks in different countries for certain routes, roads and motorway sections during different periods of time. It is sometimes impossible to maintain a clear overview. For this purpose, TimoCom has created a transparent portal with pan-European truck driving bans, TimoCom TruckBan, which is available in 14 languages.

You only have to have a look at the German regulations concerning truck driving bans to realise immediately how complex this matter can be. In Germany, for example, trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons and trucks with trailers are banned from traffic on Sundays and public holidays from 0 a.m. to 10 p.m. Exceptions apply, however, to vehicles transporting certain goods. In the event of a breach of the German regulations, a fine of 120 euros will be charged. This infringement can also be charged to the owner of the vehicle, in which case, the latter must also pay a find or 570 euros according to the list of regulations. In summer, there are other regulations making it all even more complicated. In Germany, trucks with a gross vehicle weight of more than 7.5 tons and trucks with trailer are banned from some motorways and federal highways from the 1 July to 31 August between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

No more confusion

If you consider that each European country has its own regulations on truck driving bans, it is difficult to keep track. It gets even more complicated when there are international driving bans during the holiday period. Europe's largest transport platform is aware of this difficult situation and for this reason launches the free portal on truck driving bans in Europe "TimoCom TruckBan" (www.truckban.info). Transport and logistics operators will be able to inform themselves at any moment quickly and in any of the 14 languages available on the weekend, summer and holiday period truck driving bans in Europe. They only have to enter the country and if desired the date to visualise the corresponding driving ban in a clearly structured way. TimoCom TruckBan is especially interesting for planners and HGV drivers. The portal is a very useful tool for route planning and thanks to its optimised format for mobile devices, it is also a useful source of information for all drivers travelling on European roads.
