The TIMOCOM transport barometer
The current state of the market at a glance
The TIMOCOM transport barometer reflects the current freight to vehicle space ratio on the European road transport market. It shows supply and demand across Europe and on routes between and within 46 different countries.
How does the transport barometer work?
Based on the freight and vehicle space offers in the TIMOCOM freight exchange, the ratio of freight offers posted to available trucks is shown in an annual overview. Users can access the current freight share on European routes and use the data for their daily business.
Hauliers and freight forwarders can track current demand in Europe and on various country routes. This allows the capacity options of the various routes to be better evaluated and used, for example, in price negotiations.
The data provided by the transport barometer enables better resource planning and helps to avoid empty return journeys, for example. This is because a high volume of freight offers the potential for a paid return journey from the destination region or a subsequent transport order.
The data in the transport barometer is updated every 15 minutes. This helps users identify market changes at an early stage, respond to seasonal fluctuations and adjust their own capacities accordingly.
