Erkrath, Germany, 2019-07-01 – Brexit? When you mention it to Kevin Frouin, Paul Morfett and Octavian Groza, they keep calm. When they opened the Crawley Office for Grace Overseas Logistics last year, Brexit was already on the horizon. Indeed, the back and forth regarding exit from the EU is currently more help than hinderance.
The Crawley based freight forwarder Grace Overseas Logistics keeps calm in these Brexit times. Operations manager Kevin Frouin is certain that: "Things are never as bad as they seem. The company have ensured a continued access to the international market with TIMOCOM's Smart Logistics System.
“We are a small company and as newcomers we placed our focus on the national market”, explains Operations Manager Kevin Frouin. On the international stage, they have customers in France, Germany, the Benelux countries, Spain, Italy and sometimes even Scandinavia. He is certain that: “Things are never as bad as they seem. TIMOCOM is helping us maintain our presence on the international market.”
Kevin Frouin, who is French, has a realistic view of the future. Just like his colleagues, he is an old hand in the industry. Together, they decided to leave their old employer in order to combine their road transport expertise and start a new business. Last year, Grace Overseas Logistics became the perfect partner for putting this expertise into practice. Of course, this includes preparing for October and a potential no-deal Brexit. To do this, Grace Overseas Logistics has already created a plan for their customers in order to shine a light into the darkness represented by the EORI number (Economic Operators Registration & Identification Number), DAN (Deferment Approval Number), HMRC (HM Revenue and Customs) and TSP (Transshipment-Point).
It goes without saying that Grace Overseas already has their own EORI number and is a registered AEO (Authorised Economic Operator). Thus ensuring their continued access to the international market. And their personnel have been trained to support customers when it comes to both the export and import of goods.
Right now, most of their orders come from the national market. “Over the last year, we have grown stronger month by month and we certainly can’t complain about a lack of work”, said Director Paul Morfett at the one year anniversary celebrations. “On the contrary” Frouin continued, “everyone seems to be rushing to store products and materials. And they need us to do it.”
Grace Overseas Logistics in Crawley does not have their own vehicle fleet; they use TIMOCOM to meet some of their transport needs. Paul and Kevin have been familiar with the Smart Logistics System for over a decade. “TIMOCOM has been part of my daily life for around eleven years,” says Kevin Frouin. His main job is using the freight exchange application to enter freight orders into the system and look for return loads - usually on the international market. “TIMOCOM is perfect, particularly for countries we don’t have any contacts in. Just recently we were able to organise a transport to Ukraine via the system,” explains the Operations Manager. He is confident about the future: “TIMOCOM allows us to open new markets and offer express deliveries regardless of package size - both nationally and internationally.”
